• Had to laugh that after a bit where Billy Corgan kinda rambles on on what he hopes the documentary gains from it being one on Raven the first thing we see and hear is the Heyman rallying cry from Beyond The Mat and then minutes later a clip that’s from Rise and Fall of ECW complete with WWE logo XD

  • KEVIN THORN is still wrestling?!

  • There’s something about Raven being married to a woman named Selina Kyle that’s so fitting given the comic book wrestling essentially is. Selina though with the first true statement of the doc though how wrestlers can never let it go...

  • Got to love that they went as far as getting a fraternity brother to talk about how Scott was in college. The Marine stuff’s new to me too.

  • ‘This is one of the few things that I was a natural at, that and takin’ opiates, of the two I think wrestling’s the better choice.’ Scott Levy 2025.

  • Love the local ad spot - and that The Grappler taught him what episodic wrestling was.

  • Beulah vs Kimona version 1 in Portland with Ginger and another woman I see... hilarious it died because him and Steve Doll didn’t break a shoot catfight up XD

  • Johnny Polo being essentially Shane makes sense, amazing though that he was assistant producer of Raw as well at TWENTY. Now we get to the glory years of ECW...

  • DDP and him coming up with the gimmick while seeing Grunge get big on MTV’s VMAs is cool…

  • The bit where Raven talks about the double-edged sword on doing a documentary about yourself reminds me of the anxiety that could be seen during the Pee-Wee/Paul Reubens documentary (Pee-Wee as Himself which I highly recommend) especially when talking about the past.

  • Corgan just saying the quiet part out loud why Heyman never got royally sued re music - they liked the product!

  • Raven vs Dreamer - one of THE wrestling feuds. Simple as that.

  • Dreamer claiming they did the first LGBO (Naughty Dreamer forgetting the T.) angle with Kimona and Beulah…

  • Raven having to tell Dreamer and Heyman why only doing one HUGE chair shot is more effective than Axl doing three in his match is amusing - some wrestlers and promoters STILL don’t get that.

  • The contrast of the body damage to the footage from ECW is quite telling and heart breaking to hear Selina’s side of watching her partner go through the physical pain and the surgeries…

  • The dead friends montage… :-(

  • God damn the wrestler/weapon shots montage is sobering as fuck. So many felt the need to have to do that to entertain us and so many have paid the price. I know that’s ironic given Deathmatch Royalty but that’s in a weird way my ‘giving them flowers’…

  • ‘ECW was like The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Steroids and possibly some Heroin too.’ - Raven

  • Sandman just explaining how Heyman couldn’t tell the truth to save his life by claiming he got Macaulay Culkin to play Sandman’s son and Sandman says ‘just use my kid!’ Heyman then goes OK that’s who we’ll use as was probably the plan all along XD

  • Tyler talking about the Sandman/Raven angle from his perspective is pretty cool to see after all these years!

  • Man… the amount of wrestlers that died from the drugs (mostly pain pills like Somas) in the 90’s/2000s…

  • Ah the ‘his lips are turning blue Daddy call by Fonzie’ story re Sandman coming up again…

  • Loving the montage of ECW/Simpsons did it then showing WWF/WCW ripping it off!

  • Stevie Richards ignored interview requests…

  • No mention of the whole ‘Raven was actually a rich kid and Sandman’s his neighbour’ angle in WCW… weird.

Overall this is a pretty good documentary (despite the omission of part of his WCW run!) but damn it gets you right in the feels when you learn of the physical toll it’s done to Raven - mentions of aphasia and the recent reveal of Parkinsons come to mind and the montage of the weapons shots was pretty tough to watch. I wouldn’t call it a sad documentary but one that shows one person’s desire to make it in wrestling and the cost of it all.
